Hi, I'm Laurie Mattke, founder and owner.  I have nurtured a life-long dream of creating a special home away from home for pets that provides personalized care and attention, with fun activities and a cozy, warm atmosphere.  I took the first step on my incredible journey when I purchased a 20 acre ranch outside Watkins, Colorado in 1996.
As a flight attendant, I traveled frequently and was constantly worried about the care my seven dogs were receiving in my absence. This concern led me to visit many enlightened boarding facilities around the country in search of the ideas that would culminate in the Doggie Dude Ranch.
It became clear that I wanted to build a facility that would provide the peace of mind that I crave when I leave my animals in someone else's care.  To this end I knew that I wanted to live on the property so I would be available to the dogs and cats 24/7.  The facility had to have the very best in pet amenities, combined with the nurturing and loving human interaction these pets thrive on at home.  
That means that all of our staff are first and foremost, animal lovers who we then train to be exceptional caregivers and playmates.
My brother, Tim and my sister, Marna, have joined this quest bringing their expertise.  Together, our family operated business offers the finest services through optimum care for your pets.
Guests at the Doggie Dude Ranch experience all the interactive play they would receive at the finest daycare, along with a warm and caring boarding experience. Our indoor and outdoor play yards are designed with the dog's fun and safety top of mind.
All play times are adult supervised and at the end of a full and active day, the dogs settle in with freshly baked homemade treats served in their individual suites while resting comfortably in our custom made log beds.
Our feline guests have their own separate area as well as their own private cat condo with separate litter spaces to insure the cleanliness that cats need and deserve. The front windows of our condos allow our cat guests to satisfy their curiosity by watching all of the activity of the facility.
I am very proud of our facility and the fact that our guests tell us they would never leave their best friends with anyone else. I would love to have you and your pets come by for a visit and a tour so we can get acquainted.
